Abstract

Would you like to get 100% participation in your online discussion activities?  Think how much better the group collaboration would be if all the students contributed!   The speaker Brant Knutzen teaches on an MSc IT in Education program at HKU, and has been developing a highly engaging and sustainable methodology for conducting online discussions as formative learning activities since 2007.  In this seminar he will introduce his new Moodle forum plugin, the Participation Forum, which automatically sets up group discussion areas, supplies task instructions to maximize social construction of knowledge, and then dynamically awards participation points based on student contributions.
